Rashômon

A farmer takes shelter from a torrential downpour under an old, dilapidated gate where a woodcutter and a priest are already drying off. The latter two seem completely baffled by a situation they have been drawn into despite themselves. A samurai has been murdered and his wife raped; four witnesses to the tragedy, including the priest and the woodcutter, give their versions of events, all of which contradict each other...
